The Tournament

Sign Craft owners, John and Julie Wilson, and local DJ Jammin' Johnny  began their golf tournament (JJO) the same year Care & Share made its debut in East Lyme, 1989. A decade later, JJO had added a fundraising aspect and the 1999 tournament proceeds went to Care & Share.

Our Team Involvement and Socializing

C & S supporters and volunteers learned to appreciate firsthand how dynamic a golf tournament could be to fund raising and community building. The tournament continued to be generous to Care & Share's mission support for many years thereafter.

The Importance of Fund Raising

From early in its existence, C&S quickly perceived the need for funding sources and how fund raising did two things -- (1) obtained funds to buy things needed to establish the Pantry and to acquire food and other necessities, and (2) established or solidified long term relationships to benefit the mission of C&S.
