Never Underestimate the Power of Four Women Sitting at a Breakfast Table

Our Founders knew there were families who needed help.
They had been serviced at prior holidays by East Lyme Nurses, who were becoming overwhelmed by the task.
Eight families received Thanksgiving baskets that year, and Care & Share of East Lyme was born.

Fourth Founder, Wendy Collins, who lived out-of-state and was not able to attend the 20th anniversary, graciously provided this photo from that time period.
"It warms my heart that Care & Share blossomed from the four of us. It's like watching kids grow up."
When we four started Care & Share we wanted to help those in our community in need. We had no idea Care & Share would be such a valuable asset to so very many today."
"And for all of this, I am very grateful, especially to the folks who started this worthy organization and those who have carried the torch."
"It was a special time. And a special time in my life.
Care & Share is one of the best things I did in my life."
