Popular along Main Street

The Diamond Dig

A multi-year and very popular moment of fun, community-building, and Care & Share recognition was The Diamond Dig.

For a dollar a chance, "kids of all ages" got to "pan in the sand" for faux diamonds and precious stones, and prizes, generously provided by Northern Lights Gems. One lucky winner could find a real diamond.

The Dig proved to be successful and a memorable fund raiser.

No fewer than 400 persons dug for the diamond during the celebration

of East Lyme Days in 2005.

A gem of an idea

Long after the sands of time have sifted out of the Diamond Dig, fund- raising is still necessary as the life blood of serving neighbors in need.
